Special Direct Consolidation Information
From January 17 – June 30, 2012, the U.S. Department of Education will give eligible borrowers the opportunity to consolidate certain loans into a Special Direct Consolidation Loan through the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program.
At FedLoan Servicing, we heard that you want to know how we are communicating with and counseling your borrowers that are eligible for the Special Direct Consolidation Loan. We also heard that you want to know which borrowers from your institution are impacted. To meet your needs, we are providing you with our complete borrower timeline and communications, as well as reports and outreach resources.

- FedLoan Servicing SDCL Buck Slip (PDF) (Inserted into bills for Fedloan Servicing borrowers only)
- FedLoan Servicing SDCL Postcard (PDF) (Postcards are sent if the borrower does not have a valid email address on file)

Through the School Portal, we provide three cumulative reports, divided by borrower status. These student listings are updated weekly to deliver demographic and detail information for Special Direct Consolidation Loan borrowers for your institution. Borrower statuses include:
